Research-paper presentations
Explain the problem, the system and the evidence in English.
Format
Student presentations take place in Weeks 11–14. Each student gives a 15-minute presentation in English about an assigned research paper. The presentation contributes 15% of the course grade.
Paper assignments, speaking order, question time and the marking rubric will be announced here.
Connection to the final exam
Half of the final-exam questions will come from these presentations. Study the presentations across the course, including papers other than your own. Presentation materials and any accompanying study guidance will be linked here when released.
Paper list
The paper list is being selected. No individual papers or presentation slots have been assigned on this website yet.
Preparing to read a paper
As you read, identify the problem, the proposed mechanism, the evidence supporting the results and the limitations. Relate the paper to processes, concurrency, memory, storage, isolation or distributed coordination from the lectures.
