FALL 2026 · GEBZE TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY

Week 11

1 Dec–4 Dec 2026 · Databases and records in C

Lecture slides and reading are available above. Recitation and lab requirements follow their published briefs.

Tuesday 1 Dec · CSE101

13:30–16:30 · Z23

Principles

Database systems, relations, keys and queries; consistency, transactions, indexes and access to shared information.

Application & programming

Use C structs and record arrays; search, update, save and reload records. Compare unions and binary storage briefly, and revisit sorted search from Week 8.

Lecture slides and reading are available above. Recordings are in preparation.

Learning focus

Use structs and reuse file operations. Unions and binary storage remain brief comparisons; no complete database or portable binary-format design.

D: do independently · M: explain and modify a worked example · R: recognize, trace and compare.

Revisit: Reuse arrays, functions and file checks in a record program.

Wednesday 2 Dec · Recitation

Access fields, trace a bounded record search and verify saved data.

Start time tentatively 16:30; room to be announced.

Friday 4 Dec · CSE107

Lab 10: Records & persistence

Load a small record array, search/update a record and save/reload it, using Arduino events or prepared records.

Attend your assigned two-hour group. Handout in preparation.
